Snow in November means hot chocolate season is officially upon us! As a child, hot chocolate was always my mom's go-to drink when we came in from playing out in the snow. It's sweet, creamy, and warm; basically all the ingredients for comfort! Though I may not get out to play in the snow as much, a good cup of hot chocolate in the evening snuggled on the couch still hits the spot. Over the years, I've adapted an adult version of this childhood favorite. It's full of anti-inflammatory spices and hormone balancing maca, so enjoy this sweet and spicy beverage while also treating yourself
well :)
Superfood Hot Chocolate
Serves 1
Ingredients
1 cup milk of choice
1.5 Tbsp cacao powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp ginger powder
1 tsp maca
Pinch of cayenne (optional)
Honey, molasses, maple syrup, or stevia to taste
Instructions
Simply heat up your milk and whisk in ingredients, enjoy!
* If using a milk with no fat, like almond, may want to add a little bit of coconut oil.
